Message from Kyle unfortunately and I still havent. I will search it now.
Also, I do NOT run race gas all the time. Very seldom actually and I should have specified that. I do occasionally go to the track and I am very aggressive on the street with it boosting, um, say, a lot. How can you not boost? :P
I run 93 octane and I feel as though the limits are def stretched even @430 rwhp on stock motor and 93 pump gas. I do not have the mani's which is my next purchase by the way, but I feel that over 500rwhp may be the limit where the stock motor starts to grenade.
I do also agree about the cars that are using it for the track or strip as well. I really want to see someone who put over 70k on their built motor who drive it either daily or pretty regularly or, for that matter, even occasionally without beating on it and have had no issues.
I feel as though there will not even be one because once you have a so-called built motor, the longevity is automatically sacrificed..
Lastly, I think we are in agreement about noone over 25k-30k miles on a built motor. I was telling my friend here that built motors or race motors just do not last too long because no matter who builds it or what internals we use, we all believe we have the ultimate setup for longevity no matter what rods or bearings we chose then next thing you know, there is an issue!!
On the same hand, I do also know you can cut your losses down by using a good builder as opposed to a mediocre builder and also with the right setup internally of course. But the question remains, Which one of us has the ultimate setup for built motors where you will get 70k miles?
Just my .02.
